WOW, time sure does fly. I don't have a huge readership but for those of you out there I just want to say thank you. This last year has been a very dark year for my family. It's been tough and i'd be lying to all of you if I don't say that my faith has been shaken to the core.
With questions like, "where are you God?" "Do you even exist?"; being tossed around the back of my mind it's been even harder than necessary.
Finally after many, many months I am starting to feel like myself again and am beginning to rise up again in faith and strength.
How many times do you simply disappear? How many times do you hide from the very people you know can help you? How many times do you shrink back into the shadows?
How many of you would stop for a moment and look in the shadows for those in your life that are standing just out of view. I want to take a moment to thank my good friends that have stood beside me and have encouraged me through times that I didn't even tell them about. It's the unexpected phone call, the text or email to remind me that not only that they are still there but to remind me that "yeah, i'm still here too."
I also want to thank my family for being here, by my side. I haven't always been the best father, husband or friend but I guess that's what makes us all human.
Today my encouragement is to those of you that for whatever reason don't want to share your problems with your good close friends and family. You are not a burden to them. That's why they are there in your life. God does have a plan and if He doesn't move through the very people He's put in your life than where?
Secondly for those of you that have a friend that has shrunk back into the shadows i'd encourage you to drop them a line. A text, an email, a phone call, a facebook, or tweet just to say, "hey, i'm still here." Don't pry because you may not realize just how much power you have in a simple smile and hello. If and when they need to talk, they will.
